What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to gradually shift teeth into their proper position. It is an alternative to traditional braces, which use metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth. Invisalign is often preferred for its more discreet appearance.
How Invisalign® Works
1. Consultation: The first step in getting Invisalign® is to schedule a consultation with the dentist. During this appointment, your dentist will examine your teeth and discuss your treatment goals to determine if Invisalign® is right for you.
2. Treatment Plan: If you are a good candidate for Invisalign®, the dentist will create a custom treatment plan based on digital scans or impressions of your teeth. We can then create a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom-fitted to your teeth.
3. Aligner Wear: Once your aligners are ready, you’ll wear them for 20-22 hours per day, removing them only to eat and brush your teeth. Every two weeks, you’ll switch to a new set of aligners that will gradually shift your teeth into their proper position.
4. Monitoring: Throughout your Invisalign® treatment, your provider will monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. You’ll also have regular check-ups to ensure that your teeth are moving properly.
